Welcome and thank you for inquiring about membership
at the Newport County YMCA where we build strong kids, strong
families, strong communities. The purpose of these pages is to
provide YMCA members, and potential members, with information
pertaining to memberships as well as policies and procedures in
conjunction with these memberships.

YMCA Group Exercise Classes – Group
Exercise classes are included in your membership
Health & Wellness Pool & Gymnasium
– Available during the week for adult, senior, family and
youth use. Pick up a pool and gym schedule at the Member Service
Desk.
Racquetball Court – Court may be reserved
by members only. Reservations may be made up to 3 days in advance
by calling 401.847.0752. All players must check in at the Member
Service Desk. Players are entitled to the amount of time they
have reserved. Members may reserve courts for one hour time slots.
Courts are available during all YMCA open hours.
Weight Room – Included in your YMCA
membership. It is a co-ed exercise room for those who prefer working
out with free weights. We do restrict this room to individuals
15 years and older for safety reasons.Shower & Locker Room
Facilities – There are five locker rooms within our facility:
one each for men, boys, girls and two for women. Children age
2 through age 14 use the girls and boys locker rooms. Lockers
are available in each of the locker rooms on a daily basis only.
Boys and girls lockers do not have locks. You may bring your own
padlock and remove it at the end of your daily visit. Keys for
the adult lockers are obtained at the Member Service Desk. Half
lockers may also be rented on an annual basis; please contact
the Membership Office for details. Towels may be rented for $1.00;
50¢ will be returned to you upon return of the towel.
Steam & Sauna – A steam room and
sauna are located in both the men’s and women’s locker
rooms.
Water Exercise Classes
AOA (Active Older Adult)
Family Tree House (babysitting)
The YMCA offers baby-sitting for the children of members while
the parents are using the facility. This service is offered free
of charge to YMCA members. Schedules and additional information
are available in the Family Tree House room or at the Registration
and Member Service Desks. Due to popular demand this is on a first
come, first serve basis. No Reservations. Time in Family Tree
House is determined by the child’s age.
Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m. –1:15 p.m. /3:30 p.m. –7:30
p.m.
Saturday 8:45 a.m. –12:15 p.m.
High volume time is from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Be aware that
there may be a wait.
