Junior And Teen Leaders Programs:
  • Teen Nights
    The YMCA will be hosting a Youth/Teen Night from time to time. Special themes will be established for each night. Come and enjoy swimming, basketball, floor hockey, racquetball, and a whole lot more! Tickets will be available at the YMCA one week in advance. Limited to 150 youths/teens. 3 hours.
  • Tween Night
    Ages 10-12 - summer hours – 2nd Friday of every month – 6pm –9pm
    Members: $8 Non- Members: $10
    This is a night of fun for the Pre-teens.
    Activities: swimming, scavenger hunts, basketball games, dinner and much more. A safe and fun environment with trained staff.
  • Teen Leaders Club (View PDF)
    Activities provided to the teen leaders include community service, fund raising, special trips, and teen rallies with other YMCAs.
    This program is open to youth ages 12-17.

    We meet once a month- social time, event planning, community service projects. Youths are given the opportunity to gain leadership skills based on the Y values.

  • Leader's In Training Camp
    A specialty camp offered in 2-week intervals at the Newport County YMCA. The age groups are between 12 and 16. This camp offers teens the chance to take responsibility for their summer.
Teen Fitness
A program for young teens who are interested in developing a fitness program. The class will introduce teens to both Nautilus and cardiovascular exercises. Participants will learn about the various components of fitness as well as safe and enjoyable ways to achieve their fitness goals.
Ages: 13-14.
Youth Excercise Solutions
  • Youth Exercise Solutions (Y.E.S. Program)
    (September – June)
    A 45 minute group exercise class geared for the pre-teen (Ages 8-15) who wants to work out in a fun group environment.
    All classes run from 3:30 – 4:15 p.m.
     
    Tuesday (Kids Hip-Hop)
    A fun dance class that teaches children the latest Hip-Hop dance moves.
    Thursday (Fun Fitness)
    A focus on concentration, breathing and core strengthening exercises
    .

    1x per week – $20.00 Member/$30.00 Non-Member
    2x per week – $25.00 Member/$40.00 Non-Member

  • Teens Personal Training:
    One hour training session with a personal trainer who will educate your teen on creating a healthy lifestyle for themselves incorporating balanced nutrition and exercise to fit into everyday life. Our certified professional personal training team is educated to work with the novice to the advanced exercise enthusiast. All training sessions are scheduled to accommodate each individual's needs.
