| Letter from our Executive Director:
Thank you visiting our Y Volunteers page, it's
where many folks take their first step in becoming part of the
YMCA's family of committed volunteers who help the Y to "build
strong kids, strong families, strong communities".
Our organization has a rich history of strong volunteer
support and it's the support of those volunteers that in turn
keeps our association strong. Last year more than a thousand individuals
volunteered in some capacity. Whether it was as an After School
Program tutor, road race marshal, committee member or Youth Sport
coach, it is through the efforts of volunteers working with staff,
in a unique partnership, that enabled the Newport County YMCA
to reach nearly 2 in 5 Aquidneck Islanders in some type of Y activity.
I would encourage you to visit our Staff Directory
and send an email, expressing your interest in volunteering, to
the director responsible for a program area in which you would
like to volunteer.
